Privacy Policy
Effective August 25, 2026
Information we process
OpenCourt processes information you provide, including your email address, display name, profile image, court reports, notes, reviews, court suggestions, favorites, moderation reports, and feedback. We also process the user and device identifiers needed to operate your account and notifications. Our service providers may process product interactions, advertising data, crash data, and performance data to deliver ads, measure usage, prevent fraud, and keep the app reliable.
Location and weather
With your permission, the app uses precise or approximate location only while the app is in use to center the map, show nearby courts and distances, provide directions, and request local weather. Location is not required to submit a court report, is not displayed publicly, and is not collected in the background. Weather requests send the coordinates needed for the request to Open-Meteo.
Authentication and service providers
We use Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and server functions. If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, that provider processes the authentication request under its own privacy terms. We use Apple Push Notification service to deliver alerts.
Advertising and consent
The app uses Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform. OpenCourt requests non-personalized ads and does not use the information collected through the app for cross-app tracking. Google may process device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, diagnostics, and an IP-derived approximate location to provide and measure ads, prevent fraud, and maintain its services. You can change applicable consent choices in the app settings or your device settings.
How we use information
- Operate accounts, maps, court information, reports, reviews, favorites, and alerts.
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, moderate community content, and troubleshoot the service.
- Understand reliability and improve OpenCourt.
Sharing and retention
We share information only with the service providers described above, when needed to operate OpenCourt, comply with law, or protect users and the service. Public community contributions may remain visible without private account details. We retain account data while your account is active and as reasonably needed for security, legal obligations, and dispute resolution.
Your choices and deletion
You can control location and notifications in iOS Settings and notification thresholds and applicable advertising privacy choices in OpenCourt. You can delete your account directly in the app under Settings. If you use Sign in with Apple, OpenCourt revokes the associated Apple authorization before completing deletion. Deletion removes the account and associated personal data from active systems, subject to limited legal, security, or backup retention. You may also contact us to request access or correction.
Children and changes
OpenCourt is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the service changes and will post the new effective date here.
